H-Sphere User Guide

Account Preferences

For additional information contact HitSites Support at support@hitsites.net

As a H-Sphere user, you can create multiple accounts, each with its individual settings based on the plan you select.   Your user login and password will remain the same for all accounts created.

When you log into your H-Sphere account, you are taken to the Account Info page. On the left, you will find the Navigation Menu (see below).  The account management feature you are currently viewing or working with is in bold.

The Account Info page includes the Statistics and the Quick Access sections.

The Statistics section shows the status of your account:

  • Plan: the plan your account has been created under. To change your plan, click the Change icon. You can change only to similar plans. For example, you can't change from a Windows platform plan to a Unix platform, as they are in different groups. This is done to prevent loosing all your data and settings under the current plan.
  • Billing period: the payment interval which determines when the recurrent and usage fee are charged. For more information see the Billing chapter of this manual. Click the Change icon to select another billing period if there are options under your current plan.
  • User (also referred to as User Name, Account Manager Login, Account Name): the user login to enter the control panel. The name by which your account is represented to the administrator along with its ID.
  • FTP login: the FTP login to enter your user directory to manage your files.
  • Total traffic: total amount of information transferred to and from your account by Internet users and yourself. Control Panel navigation is not included in the total traffic. See Account Preferences for details.
  • Traffic Details: click the View icon to see what makes up your total traffic.
  • Disk quota: total amount of disk space used by all files in your directory. See Account Preferences for details.
  • Domain Settings:  On the right of the Statistics section there is a link that takes you to the Domain Settings page. For more information see the Domain Settings chapter of this manual.
  • To access your site as a visitor, click the View icon.

The Quick Access section refers you to the basic resources available under your plan:

To access other account management features, use the navigation menu.

Account Preferences

This page allows you to view or edit your account information:

  • Plan: contains details about this account's plan. To switch to a different plan (e.g. to get new features or change the price scheme), click the Change icon. The following window will appear:

Warning: Switching plans will disable the resources that are unavailable under the plan you are switching to. It will also charge any outstanding balance, and will require full payment for the billing period at the point that you choose the Switch button. Once you have switched, your account information will display your new plan. Check your bill to see additional fees or refunds.
You can only change to compatible plans. If you don't see the plan of your choice in the list that appears, it is not compatible with your current plan. To change to an incompatible plan you have to delete your current account and create a new one under the desired plan.
  • Account Manager Login: user login you use to enter the system.
  • FTP Login: ftp login to get access and manage files in your directory on the hosting server.
  • FTP Password: change your ftp admin password for the selected account.
  • Quota: free disk space provided with your plan. Click Change to buy extra disk storage.
  • Transfer summary traffic: the amount of traffic you can run up over the billing period for free. If you exceed this limit, you will be automatically charged for every gigabyte of the excess traffic.
