What do I do about the "RESOURCE LIMIT" messages in my email.
If you get a message like this: mailbox: user@yourdomain.com
has used 4.92 MB out of 5 MB limit, it means you have 4.92
MB of mail stored in your mailbox on the server.
Mailboxes will not allow a message to be delivered that exceeds
the available mailbox space. You should NOT "store" mail on the
server as this will prevent e-mail from being delivered to you
that is larger than the remaining available mailbox space.
You should NEVER set an e-mail client (Outlook, Netscape Mail,
Eudora, etc.) to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". If you
are using the WebMail interface to manage your mail, and you want
to keep your mail on the server, you can purchase additional
mailbox space by increasing the quota for that mailbox in the mail
control screen of your control panel.
If you get a message like this: user: userid has used
93.23 MB out of 100 MB limit, it means you are reaching
your plan's file space limit on the disk. You need to either
delete some files or pre-purchase more disk space by clicking on
the icon next to Disk Quota in your control panel.
NOTE: If Transfer Log is enabled in your control panel,
(required by Webalizer) it creates a copy of your recent raw log
files in your disk space. These files constantly update and change
size. The old files are automatically deleted when they are
seven to ten days old. If you are not using Webalizer or otherwise
accessing your raw log files you should turn Transfer Log (Off)
under Web Settings in your Control Panel.
If you get a message like this: 4.9 GB of traffic has
been used over this month out of 5 GB limit, it means you
are about to be charged for additional bandwidth at the "Usage"
rate listed in the Price screen under Billing in your control
panel. To avoid paying the "Usage rate for the extra bandwidth,
you can pre-purchase additional transfer traffic by clicking on
the icon next to "Total Traffic" in your control panel.
Mailbox and File Space are fixed limits in that when you run
out you can't receive mail or add more files without purchasing
more resources.
Transfer Traffic (bandwidth) is NOT a fixed resource in that it
will NOT stop users from loading your web site when you have
exceeded your allocation. It simply monitors the usage and charges
you for the excess consumed.
